What should you pay attention to when designing brushed rivet structures?
- 2023-03-14-

Drawn rivets are high-strength structural blind rivets. The nail core is firmly locked and has excellent gap-filling performance. It is especially suitable for heavy-duty use environments. Traditional application scenarios include steel frame structures, the automotive industry, switch cabinet structures and outer bodies, and ventilation equipment. , household appliances, container industry, etc.

Recently, the use of brushed rivets in the construction industry has also been gradually promoted, especially after the emergence of 12.7mm diameter brushed rivets, which provides a more convenient connection method for the main structure. The tensile strength can reach more than 30,000 Newtons, and the shear strength is It can exceed 40,000 Newtons. Whether it is a light steel structure or a heavy steel frame structure, wire drawing rivet products of different sizes can take advantage of wide riveting scale, high work efficiency, and high structural strength to help improve the reliability of connections and speed up production. progress.

Internal locking wire drawing rivets and external locking wire drawing rivets are very similar in appearance, and their functions and strengths are basically the same. There are slight differences in the use of the two products. External locking wire drawing rivets need to be equipped with a special special gun head, which can form a removable gun after riveting. The visual external locking facilitates inspection. The internal locking wire rivets can be used with standard gun heads to provide internal locking protection.

When designing the brushed rivet structure, the riveting seam method is usually selected according to the load-bearing conditions and specific requirements, according to the riveting specifications, and the relevant structural parameters, diameter and quantity of the brushed rivets are confirmed. The length of the product is determined according to the type and shape after riveting, and can be recommended by tui The formula can be used for calculation, or it can be selected from the tui recommendation table. So what are the precautions for structural design?

1. The riveting thickness is generally not greater than 5 times the diameter of the wire drawing rivet.

2. The load-bearing capacity of punching and riveting is about 20% lower than that of drilling and riveting.

3. The number of products parallel to the load direction should not be more than 6, but should not be less than 2. The diameters of products in the same structure should be as uniform as possible, with no more than 2 types.

4. When using wire drawing rivets, try to make the wire drawing rivets staggered to improve the strength factor of the riveting.

5. The allowable stress of products made on the construction site should be appropriately reduced.

6. When riveting multi-layer boards, the interfaces of each layer board need to be staggered.

7. Edge hemming is only carried out when the plate thickness is greater than 4mm; when the plate thickness is less than 4mm and the tightness requirements are high, linen cloth coated with lead can be placed between the steel plates to achieve tightness.
